The Best Dirt Bikes for a 13-Year-Old

Choosing a dirt bike for a 13-year-old can be quite confusing. Many parents don’t know which one to choose.

The most important thing is to buy a bike that will last for years and is safe for riding because children at this age love to ride at high speed. Due to this, it is very important that the dirt bike has different speed gears so that the child will not ride too fast.

In addition, it is very important to buy a dirt bike that has a big enough seat so that it will not be too small in a few years’ time after your child has grown a little.

Today I am going to show the best dirt bikes for 13-year-olds and what are the most important things that you need to check before you buy.

How to choose the right seat height for 13-year-olds.

The most important thing before you choose a seat size is to make sure that the child has plenty of room to put their feet on the ground and because your child is always growing, I would recommend buying a dirt bike that is slightly larger than the size they currently need.

The recommended size is between 30 to 35 inches, but it always varies according to the height of the child.

If you want to hear more about choosing the right dirt bike size for your height, I highly recommend reading the article I wrote about it click here to view

How to choose dirt bikes for 13-year olds.

To get the best dirt bike for your child there are several questions you need to ask yourself.

Price – The price is undoubtedly a very important factor when buying a dirt bike. In fact, most of the dirt bikes that I’ve shown you are less than $500, which is considered very cheap. In general, the price of dirt bikes for 13-year-olds range between $300 to $1,500.

Engine Size – Generally the engine size for children aged 13 ranges from 49 cc to 115 cc. Many people think that 115 cc is too big but you can use a throttle limiter to help with this.

Engine type – There two types of engine, 4-stroke and 2-stroke. 4-stroke engines hardly require maintenance and are very good for beginners.

On the other hand, 2-stroke engines are designed for advanced riders because they produce very high speeds.

Personally, I would recommend the 4-stroke engines because they are much more suitable for children who are just learning to ride.

The height of the seat – As I said before, the height of the seat varies according to the height of your child. The most important thing is that your child manages to put their feet on the ground.

Electric dirt bikes or gas dirt bikes – Electric dirt bikes are undoubtedly much more secure for your child than gas dirt bikes. In fact, electric dirt bikes have many advantages, for example, they do not pollute the environment like gas dirt bikes and they do not require a lot of maintenance. Also, they cheaper than gas dirt bikes.

However, dirt bikes are much more fun for riding because you can reach very high speeds, which also makes them more dangerous. Gas dirt bikes require a lot of maintenance compared to an electric dirt bike.
